Blocking the trail?

Okay so this is sort of a rant.

Today I went out with my Dad and ran Rattlesnake(yeah I know, I don't wheel, but what the hay?) needless to say there was a ton of rigs out there. I figured that this would be a busy weekend, but as we headed up we ran into a LARGE group of rigs at the squeeze. Actually there was two different groups, but I digress.

The second group told us they had been waiting there for almost 1.5 hours, we waited about 30 mins while the first group bashed their way through the area before the waterfall.

I think this amount of time spent waiting is ridiculous, I don't go take my underequiped YJ up Constrictor, and make everyone wait behind me.

Now, this does NOT include broken down rigs, or when trying to get a limping rig off the trail. But the rigs that were holding everyone up were running fine.

Be careful Pokey, I started a thread similar to yours once and all I got was very unpopular real, real quick.

In an ideal world slower moving groups will yield to faster ones, but it just doesn't happen. How would you have passed all those rigs in the first place? There just isn't room in there.

I guess all I can say is, start earlier in the morning. Who knows, maybe soon there will be more trails out there and we won't have the big hold ups on the two trails we now have.....

Hey now...................We did just fine. We decided to do the same. However when we got to R/S it was a traffic jam so we turned around and headed for Constrictor. We made it over the nest just befor the large group got there and BROKE.


BTW we were there all weekend and basically had the trail to ourselves. You should have come up earlier We could had some fun. And you would have seen the only 1.3 litre zuk that can pass Spence on I-15.

I agree with Pokey too~~I think if you see a large group backing up behind you at least try to pick up the pace it is funny to watch very well built (capable) rigs get spotted over every single rock on Rattlesnake~~just drive dammit

I was stuck right in the middle of it all. couldn't go forwards or reverse so we just hung out and helped all who were busted.

as far as slow ass people, I hate traffic jams. I hate sitting around waiting for people to move. I am going out there on a wednesday night next time!! forget that sillyness, I got sandwiched between two broken rigs and never got a shot at the nest...I had my winch all shined up and everything!!

on another note, I like making old farts in super built rigs look stupid when my pile of crap zuk follows them everywhere they go WITHOUT taking a single bypass.....silly old men.....

and a big FU goes out to that ignorant old bastard that told me to take the bypass on the lower falls because my rig was too small, pounded that sheit through like a mad man just to prove a point!!

it was me smokine camel in camels zuk and i think we got a basicaly stock zuk throught it pretty well for what we had to deal with.. and yes i agree it shouldent have been up there but i was not driveing. and we dident hold anyone back for no houre and a half... who ever told you that was wrong

On Saturday I went up Rattlesnake then to the start of Constricter and back to my truck in 30 mins. It really isn't that hard of a trail.

I agree with pokey. Trail edicut (SP) is something that should be told to a drivers in a group. Expecially when there is a long line of people. The driver is responsible for there rig. Watching others icomes second. When a diver is off somewhere anc they can't be found it nerve racking and annoying. Also when the person ahead of you is goin through a part of the trail that is fun to watch, the diver behind should be in there rig ready to go. If the rig is part way through and there is no need to back out then the next rig should be moving.

: 12 this is to rhino and all the other whiners out there that didn't walk up the trail another 20ft to see that there were 50 other vehicles in front of us when we got there,as for the tracker and mexi style sami they should not have been there in the first place but as for smokincamel,myself and some dude in an FJ40 we did just fine so if your going to whine and complain about a trail run then at least stand there for longer than a min. to see what the hold up is!!!
(but remember there still are morons out there with no trail etiquette what so ever, so dont accuse and bitch if you don't know.)
