Broke off Bolt

I broke the head off one of my spring plate bolts. On the drivers side of a Dana 60 there is one U bolt and two bolts that go down into the case. I broke one of them off and I'm having a hell of a time getting it out.

I have saturated it in penerating oil for two days, I have a large EZ out on it, I have smacked the case, I have a hole going all the way throught the bolt and filled it with oil.

I don't think the Case will get hot enough for me to try and use a torch and expand the case,,,,

What am I missing?

Can you continue to drill the bolt out? I think that it would be pretty risky, cause you don't want to damage the case. But I think that if you could get the walls of the bolt thin enough you could get it out.

I would say use the torch. Just do it a little at time as you feel comfortable.

Sorry thats my best solution.

How big is the hole you have drilled right know?

Well I got it. Tried welding a large nut on the part that was sticking up but it just broke off again.

Did like Pokey said and drilled it out as far as I could. Took a small punch and freed as much as I could. The I took a tap and retaped the hole.

Thanks for the help.
