So I have a Fab Fours bumper on the back of my TJ. Last weekend while playing in the snow the spindle snapped. It was just a single shear design. I have purchased a new spindle and hub in a double shear design. It uses a standard 1000 lb spindle like everybody else does. Has a double shear bracket that ties into the bumper. The difference is with the "sleeve". So I have everything (except the sleeve) mocked up and looks fine. In order to use the sleeve I need to have the hole in the bumper machined out to accept this sleeve and then weld the sleeve into place. I really dont think this sleeve will add enough strength to make it worth the effort. I think that with the addition of the dual shear design it will be just fine. Any thoughts for or against this sleeve?
