As some of you may have noticed, I had a chance to do an automotive bucket list event for me. Had a GREAT time. Ended up going by myself and in some ways, that was kind of cool. If I wanted some nachos, I went and got some. If I was geeking on a ride, my wife wasn't over my shoulder wondering how long she'd be subjected to my new "friend" and waiting for me. (she's pretty patient but ...). I didn't have to ask anyone what they wanted to eat, etc.
New gate at SLC airport. I guess this was the 2nd day this wing was open.
Rental car. V6? Faster than I expected but not a car I would buy
72 GS with a tribute '70 GSX race car in the background. 10 second GSX (dad) vs a 12 second GS (son in Dad's high school car) "stock" car.
There's a tow rig for you.
I didn't know I liked green cars. The top is kind an odd color but this was a NICE car.
Survivor '71 GSX (with a 350) car.
Fat girl with a Paxton SuperCharged 455 running in the 10s
Rental parked next to two "exotics"
Unbelievable restoration on the brown and the blue Skylark. Survivor Riviera in the background
I've never seen one of these before. There were at least 9 at the event. One was racing in BSA (Buick Stock Appearing). For 1970, there were 678 of these made. 188 (I think that's right or close) in Apollo White, the balance in Saturn Yellow.
