I'm trying to remember what we did with the VIC, I think we just used one from a 231. We did a sye at the same time.

It is the NP 242, The viscoius coupler will wear out, i had mine do it to me about 3/4 up on Dump Bump, then front tire(s) wouldn't even spin . And I know also that the Low Range in that t case isnt very low, plus it doesnt send equal power to both ends of the drivetrain, so it isnt very low-low range. I noticed a world of difference when i put my NP231 in, you can get a good deal on one if you be patient enough. Mine was out of a 2001 TJ and i got it fir $150utahxjer said:Hey my bud is looking at a 94' GC with the v8 and an automatic, he's looking at building it up and just using it for offroad and driving it to the trails... It also has the "all-time" 4wd thing... What TC is this? And it sounds like it should hold up?

Just as long as the boots arent busted open, Mine have held up fine on some good beatings. The only time i had an issure is when one busted open and got mud in it then blew up, I picked up some re-mans from auto zone for $79.99 a side and they are lifetime warranty.utahxjer said:not to hi-jack but sort of on topic...
my bud's ZJ has the CV axles up front, will they hold up on the medium trails in Moab?
