So about ten years ago a buddy of mine had us over for some garlic burgers and they were so good I got sick because I ate too much. I have no idea where he got them and have been trying to find some good burgers to throw on the barbecue. Have a favorite?

1/2lbs chuck steak
1/2lbs sirloin steak
1tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small yellow onion minced
Dash ground cumin
Salt
Pepper

Take chuck and sirloin and throw it in a food processor. Grind until it is close to the constancy of ground beef you find at the store (it won't be exact, but you'll know when you see it).
Put meat in large bowl with remaining ingredients. Mix together using your hands until everything is fully combined. Pat out four 1/4lb patties and grill on medium-high heat to desired doneness.

Dude, where have you been on that? Sounds like a good camp meal!

This sounds really close to mine. I use Montreal Steak Seasoning, woosty, garlic, and onions.

Makes a good hobo dinner, with tatos and carrots... no dishes!

Wild oats has something called a "cowboy burger" at their meat counter that is the best store bought burger I've ever had.

I've been meaning to pick up some of the burger options they have at Snyders. Stephen's recipe sounds good, although I'm not a fan of onion IN my burger. Everything else wounds tasty.

Also, for the record, the best home made burger I've ever had was 1/2 ground chuck and 1/2 ground elk. mmmmmmm

I use

meat (and if you can get ground elk, MAN is that tasty)
1 egg
oatmeal
garlic to taste (garlic powder if you're in a jam)
balsamic vinegar
couple good dollops of some hot sauce

Mix it all up, make burgers. Delish. This was a camping recipe, since the oatmeal and eggs were on hand for breakfast already. Also makes decent meatloaf if you drank too much and are too lazy to deal with making patties. ;)

Harmon's has pre-made burgers in their butcher dept. mushroom and swiss, jalapeno, garlic, and cheddar. They're about 1/4 lb. each, and they're really good. The garlic burger has chunks of roasted garlic in it, the jalapeno has slices of jalapenos all through it, and so on.
Here they are ready to eat, the Pez dispenser is for scale. Yes, he ate both of them. :)

I need a burger!

Also, I'll second the egg in the mix if you're making your own. When you're putting onions, etc into it it tends to fall apart on the grill. If you put an egg into the mix it holds the patty together.
