I need to buy a premanufactured cage or have one built in the SLC area. It's for a CJ7 daily driver. Any recomendations? I want my kid to have one, just in case.
Thanks

I would make the drive to Logan and talk with John/Nate at Mnt Logan offroad. They do top notch work for a reasonable price. Well worth the drive to get it done right!!

The bolt in cages never fit as good as a custom built one, and generally they are not as good of material.

I second that.

I am in the same situation (needing a cage) for my CJ8 & was wondering what the deal was with some of the more local spots? I live about 2 miles from RL and BHR and have never had any experiences with them. Will someone in the "know" PM me and give me a heads up about the quality of their work? Or post it up.
Mt logan did some work for me way back (when they were in a old produce garage) really don't want to drive it up but it'll be worth it if these local guys suck.
TIA

I stopped by Ben Hanks today on my way home from work. I was expecting a small start up company, home garage style. I was surprised at the size of the shop, and how many big projects they had going on at once. I bet they had 10-12 rigs all being worked on at the same time, and it was all custom work happening. I kind of nosed around to get an idea of the quality and was impressed. I did not have my camera with me or I would have taken lots of pictures of the 4 seat buggy and the new Ben Hanks comp rig that is under construction. There was detailed work all around. Things like a boxed frame job that with a few minutes of inspection I could not see the weld seams, it looked like one piece. If you are thinking about a cage I would stop by and see what type of work is going on there, look at their tube work, the way they finished off the ends of the tubes, welds, etc. They defiantly have some good experience in there. Thanks to Reddman for giving me the short guided tour.
