So I have been working with DIY4X to get a spring perch for my front 78 dana 60. They sell a kit that is just one perch that is just made for this application. I can't figure out why mine is weird, so I need some help. If you have a front 78-79 dana 60 from a ford could you measure your cast in perch height for me. Mine seems to be shorter than most. I mean it is closer to the tube than the ones DIY4X has seen. Mine is about 1/2 of an inch off the tube to the top of the perch. thanks

If you're the oddball, why not just grind the DIY perch down to fit? As long as you've got room enough for the spring pin to fit, what's the issue?

Not trying to be a wiseguy, just wondering. And I'll grant you that Dana did some weird stuff. I've got to call a friend of mine that works for Dana anyway, I'll ask if he's ever run into this kind of thing. :D

I don't want to grind it down. I will if I have to. It is just too niece of a piece. Kert at diy4x has been super cool about the whole thing. At this point it is more of an academic exercise than anything. I just kind of want to know now. It looks like he won't be able to bend one for that radius.

I will measure my axle tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if it is a 78 or 79 though.......

thanks.
