Camber angle

What is a good general camber angle? Caster I believe as a general rule for vehicles is between 5-8 degrees but what about camber. I searched the web and couldn't find anything.

If you have adjustment that allows you to run negative camber, do it. I design in negative whenever the application allows for it.

One of these days I'm gonna build a set of fabricated C's and knuckles for my 60 that will have a few degrees negative camber. Cone Industries makes a super bad-a cambered solid axle spindle for non-steering rear ends that would compliment them nicely. Link to a pic. I know they make it in 35 spline, I hope they have new ones designed to fit the 40 and 46 spline shafts they make. :greg:

Oh and I would gun for -1 to -3 degrees for off road use. 0 to -1 for a street driven rig. Camber is your friend, especially as tire pressure decreases.

Thanks. I am working on a project for school and need to set up the camber. I also wondered because the 60 I have on my truck appears to have some negative camber.

Mini-baja type thing or ?

Sounds like your 60 has either worn out ball joints/kingpins, or it's bent. Well at least the good news is you have improved camber!

I don't see how my 60 could get bent that way. The king pins probably could be replaced but they looked to be in good shape when I took the axle all apart. At school we are building a paraplegic offroad handcycle.

It's easy, bottom out hard, jump it, overload it, etc. and it bends the axle that way. It's way more common than you may think.
