I am not sure about your application but some of the disk rear have the parking brake set up on the inside edge of the rotor that pushes from the inside if that make sense
like I said not sure though but release your parking brake and try again

You're right...the 8.8 has the internal drum park brake.

If you have the park brake set, release it ;)

I had a stuck rotor on the front of my tacoma 2wd. I took a small torch and lightly heated the rotor (outside or near the bolt circle). Then I took a rubber mallet, and gave it a good whack...presto! off came the disk.

you might want to back off the e brake before trying to pound that rotor off... it could be set so tight that it will not allow the rotor off even when the e brake is off...

undoing the e-brake cable is not going to back the pads off.you have to find the adjuster and back the pads off

if you look its a basic drum brake.on the backing plate is a slot through that slot is the adjuster.

oh and as a side note when ever redoing brakes the rotors/drums what ever should always be turned

the dea blow hammer, and never found a bolt that a torch dosnt fit, so you can heat it up, and beat the livin hell out of it, and it should come off, and if it is this stuck, then there is probally something boken inside anyway, also if the rotor is old, then there is a good chance the the shoes have worn an edge on the outside, and that will catch the shoes and make it hard, bbut you just need to pund the hell out if it

hope you got it off by now though, or at least this helps

I'm pretty sure you've figured something out by now, but just wanted to mention... I've run across newer vehicles that had retaining clips over a couple of the wheel studs holding the rotor in place, (used during manufacturing to keep rotors from falling off) especially if the rotors have never been taken off before. I fought one for 20 minutes before I could actually distinguish the clips where there... (this was on a F250) ONLY after i soaked it in WD40 and cleared the rust off did i notice it... it was one of those really thin washers that once you push it on it clamps onto the stud.. (used a lot on small shafts in electronics or on the small shaft at the end of your heater cable to hold the cable on without having to pin it or use a nut)
Just one i've run across.
