Car Alarms

I'm looking to get a couple car alarms. I'm not installing one in the Jeep, so I don't have the open cab issues to deal with, but I do want a decent systems. I've done some searching on here, but theres not much in the way of good information. Anyone have any first hand expierence? I'd like to hear good and bad, as well as manufacturers and models. I haven't had a car alarm in a lot of years, and back then they left a LOT to be desired. Surely there's got to be something better now?

Funny BC, I would have thought you'd had quite a bit of experience with car alarms over the years- not on your own vehicles of course...
