Sorry to ask this on a 4x4 board, but I am having some wierd problems with my 1971 Honda monkey. What’s happening is when I start the bike it is revving engine like some one is giving it full throttle, it will run like this for a few minutes till it seams to flood it self out and eventually die. If I pull on the throttle it will make the idle go down and actually idle correctly when it at full throttle. The throttle cable is hooked up right, this is just confusing the hell out of me.

Thanks in advanced,
Brian

The return spring is in the carb and hooked up. i am not sure about the hand throtle. when i twist it pulls on the cable going into the carb. like it would be pulling against the return spring, so i dont know.

update:

i was just uut monkeying around with the monkey  and i was trying to adjust the carb a lil to see if i can get it to run any smoother and i adjusted the air screw all the way in and it is running awsome it wont kill its self out now. so does this mean its time to rebuild the carb?
