I have been using my sidekick like a pickup to haul parts around alot lately and so ive started to look at some extended cab toyota pickups from 94+ with the split bench and wondered if anyone has experience putting carseats in these? ive got a 2yearold that is fairly scrawny and so I think he will be in a carseat for a LONG time and I WILL NOT have his carseat in the front. Ive been talking with a guy about trading my 93 sidekick and 86 samurai along with a few spare parts for a toyota pickup but im not sure if it will go through but im curious and will continue to look if it falls through.

No experience with that in particular, but my kids' legs hit the back of my XJ seats.... so unless that seat is going in the middle, you're gonna have issues.

any '89+ extended cab will have the jump seats in the back. I think it'd be really tough to fit a carseat in there well. See if you can throw a car seat in someone's and see what it's like.

I came close to buying a 91 extended cab once upon a time. I'm thinking a car seat did fit in the middle (bucked seats in the front) but there was not nearly enough room to fit behind the driver or passenger seats. My memory is hazy though sorry I'm not much help. Either way they aren't in car seats forever lol :D

My brother use to borrow my ext cab tacoma, and put a car seat in the back. The car seat fit but my brother is 5'4" on a good day, and drove with the seat all the way forward.
