I have an 87 samurai with a 1.3L 8V, 40mm harley myside kit, doug thorley headers, and 2" from behind the cat and back along with an aero turbine muffler. My problem is that my cat isnt heating up and working like it should so I can pass emissions. Can I just go with any universal one like the one at the link below?

If it's just not heating up you could try cutting it out and moving it forward that would make it heat up faster
