CB antenna replaced/ now no sound

ok so my antenna was ripped off a long time ago in a car wash, i just recently found the part i need for it, i tested it with my buddys cb and he could here me just fine but there wasnt a sound coming out of mine, now i could see on my cb when he talked cuz the light bar was going up and down with his words, but still no noise out of mine, do you think the speaker could of blown? iv never had it all the way turned up or anything. any suggestions? thanks

Or you have the squelch turned up too high... Turn it down and see if you can even hear static on any of the channels...

ya i tried adjusting the squelch and nothin happened and im not sure if i can do an external speaker hookup but i will try, thanks guys
