No I don't get free stuff for pimping this guy, rather I just have to be appreciative of a guy that knows a TON and is always willing to help troubleshoot...

I wanted to buy a complete CB setup and shopped around at a couple places... auto parts stores, Radio Shack and then I stopped here... needless to say my shopping was over.

This guy has been doing CB's for 28 years... he knows his business..... the punks at Radio Shack told me I needed the redneck dual whips to get reception.. plus they thinned out their CB supply big time... props to Contact..

I got a decent Uniden, PA, ANL... 2 ft. K40 and all the mount/coaxial stuff.... I was thinking it would cost me in the $200 range for a good setup, I walked out with everything for $115 :D And that is just his regular prices...

Good Dude!

Yup... ;) :D

Actually, I finally decided the handheld wasn't gonna cut it for trail running anymore...

The true story is....

I have an OEM Toyota CB radio... problem is, no one can figure out how to wire it up correctly.... it was made to hook into the factory radio, it muted the radio when you spoke or received, so it has like 10 wires coming out of the back and no built in speaker... I knew it wouldn't be the easiest route but it would be cool to have... I know of only 2 other OEM Toyota CB's in existence....

you got the external PA? sweet. That's a good price, was that tuned?

Yeah, but I still need to buy the bullhorn, but those are cheap <$20... He does the tuning for $10ish and $4-5 if you buy the setup from him...

I read up on the tuning, seems easy enough but I don't have the meter and don't care to learn a new hobby ;)...

Plus did I mention this guy has been working with CB's for 28 years..... he knows his bus... :D

that's cool, I actually have something similar. A cobra, AM/FM-8-track CB radio. Like your, it transmits through the speaker and mutes the radio too.

yeah, 10 bucks to tune it is too cheap to bother with it yourself. Some of these guys have some serious cash in their "Big Radios", as much as 2k:eek:

wow,,, that would be cool.

ps, what is an ANL??

It is some kind of noise filter.... really cuts away alot of the background static... I cna switch it on an off.... I guess you would want it off if trying to pickup a weak signal...

What CB do you have Shawn?

I know it... wow there is some really cool stuff... upper & lower sidebands... all kinds of power amps and boosters (not legal for "use")...

I even found some auctions on Ebay selling boosted CB's... they just made you verify that you have no intent of using it... ;)

I also have the Uniden, I don't recall the model. Have had it for years. Good CB, Small.

Yeah, I have had some Uniden stuff over the years... seems like good quality... I hope it lasts for a while... I know my CD player bit the dust (literally ;))

CD players just don't last in the dirt. I too have the Uniden. It's been rained on, snowed on, filled full of dirt, and it still works great.
