cb radio issues

ok so I just purchases the midland 1001z a couple months ago from lowrangeoffroad for my sidekick and just hooked it up tonight as well as an external pa speaker they sold me. Problem is when I switch it to pa I dont get anything out of the speaker and the lights on the cb turn off. I hooked this up through the cd player wiring and the cd player doesnt show any issues while this is going on. Anyone have ideas on what might be wrong?

Are there two jacks on the back? One for PA and one that says EXT. If you have it hooked to EXT you won't get anything when you switch to PA.

No problem Brandon, I've plugged it in wrong so many times I've lost count.

ive never dealt with a cb before and so when I mounted it to my overhead tray up above my windshield there isnt much room to see whats what behind there and plugged it in the wrong hole. NOW TO FINALLY GET OUT WHEELING SOON AND TEST IT. Good thing my inlaws are visiting next month which will give me more motivation to ask for time off from work, find a babysitter, and get out to 5mile.
