Cb radio

Ok, so i just bought a cb radio, i know i need an antena, and probably cord, is there anything else i need? Do any of ya'll have any extra's?

I have a few antennas laying around the house... and I have meter to tune it up for you... as far as the cable goes your better off buying a new one... go to one of the truckstops they usually have great deals on antenna with cable already in them, just mount and go! one other thing... if its going on your jeep make sure it has a spring so that the antenna can bounce around when your on the rocks otherwise you have what I had this last trip... a broken antenna!

Ok, i might hit ya up on that meter, and even maybe one of those antenna's. What kind of truck stops do you mean? like a gas station off the freeway or where?

He is talking like Flying J. that is where I bought my last antenna. It was cheaper then Radio shack and better.

Go to the Flying J on 21st street on I-15 in the ogden area, if u need any good ideas on how to mount it come check out my Rig i live in the layton area also and i drive a TJ

I have a YJ and am against the springs. I have never broken an antenna without one, but when I had one, the antenna would flop all over and bang against my hard top. Very annoying.

I like Cobra myself, If you get a Cobra I would get at least a 29 or larger.

I know cobra's good, but i took a chance and bought a Midland 1001Z 40 Channel CB with Channel 9 Switch and PA. Do all of them need to be tuned as well?

You just need to tune the antenna to the radio and that is it... the pa is for when you want to hook a speaker up outside your rig and talk loudly to the area around your rig... and channel nine is for emergencies well it was suppost to be but not sure anymore due to cb radios don't follow any codes anymore. There might be some police or emergency workers that still monitor that channel.

It just occured to me today as i was putting in the CB, i know nothing about cb antenna's, is there good brands? are they all the same? anything specific i should look for? Also devel could ya pm me where ya live so i could take a peek at your TJ? note i have stock bumpers.

Ok, i bought an antenna but need some mounting ideas, preferable on the rear of the jeep, but im open to anything, pictures would be helpfull if ya can.
