Change of plans Snakes 08 March at noon

It's perfect out there!!! WW has a bunch of mud at the beginning, pretty impassible. Weather and conditions were perfect. The only downer was my tie-rod, I bent it.

NO NO, By mud, he means only a few mud puddles, about three foot diameter at the largest. I only saw five or six of those. the VAST majority of the trail was dry as a bone, and LOTS of large piles of tumble weeds to drive through. A few if I did not know the trail went that way, I would have turned around.

WW was bone dry, but a lot of standing water right at the bottom of it, so no one seems to have made it up there. Once you get up the the last few things on Con you find some standing snow on the sides of the trail, and a bit muddy of a trail up until that last big obstacle right before the eagle nest waterfalls, whatever you want to call it.

I thought about going up that myself, but a couple of TJ's on steroids could not make it up there, and I did not want to wait to see if I could make it myself. I know I can not get up the last one, so, no point in waiting just to have to go back down the thing.

Trip was great, sorry that you could not make it richpblaze.

Jdub, was that you in the CJ8? I was the CJ7 with the PSC fenders. Glad you made it home ok either way.

Anyhow,

Don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour tonight...

I find any excuse not to go to Constrictor /rattlesnake. I can only stand to get spanked by Eagles nest 1 or 2 times a year:eek:

Yup, that was me, despite the bent tie rod I straightened it out so my tires would point straight and did a pretty dang good job 'cause I was able to continue on mild trails and cruise home at decent speeds.

The tumble weeds were crazy!

I went out around noon. The trails were much better than I thought they would be. The Rapids were a little moist, but I still got through them pretty easily. There was some snow and mud up past the Nest on the way out, but it was still pretty awesome.

Yeah, the tumble weeds were amazing. I went out a different way, and it made me think... One section with those weeds I would have expected the trail to go a totally different direction if no one had run down the weeds before I got there...

I saw that you were getting on the road right in front of me, so I went down the four wheeler path to give you some time to get down the road, I admit I did not want to get stuck behind you if you were going to be going slow. Then again, I've always wanted to do that quad path next to the road anyhow. Went over all of the jumps over the pipes and everything (though I did not jump them.. hehe)

SO, RICHPBLAZE, did you end up going today or what? Hope it was fun, sorry I could not meet you up there. I rarely get to wheel on Sunday, and even more rarely get to go on a longer trail like that.
