Chase -1, BOA +1 Cody 0

So, due to another GD billing mistake from Chase, and the fact they they are completely adamant that I called and closed my account on October 9th (which never happened), I was just able to transfer all of my balance from them over to BOA, who was more than happy to take it with an interest rate of 0% for the transfer.

I've been dealing with Chase's BS for 10 years, and I'm happy to be done with them. I had a good rate through them, but not 0%.

Anywho, that is all. Now just to finish paying it off.

BOM = Bank 'O 'merica = the branches in the south.

BOA = Bank of America = the branches in civilized states.

??!!??

Good luck with BOA, they've been the worst Bank I've ever used/been associated with. My mom used to use Chase and they were pretty crappy too so it may just be a toss up between which is worse. :D

I feel the same. Just paid off my card from them and totally glad to get rid of them. I had a lowish 11% rate from a bank they acquired (MBNA). As soon as BOA took over, my rate jumped to 22% or something ridiculous.

They've got any and all monies they'll EVER get from me.

when I was in the Military they used BOA for the travel cards we used... well the Army isn't the fasted to pay the soldier back... and I made a payment a few days late...so I didn't include the late charge... the next month they charged me a fee for not paying the late fee... and they would not even talk to me about removing these fees even though I was only 3 days late.

To them late is late and you owe so pay up.... and I will never do business with them again.

Well, I can't imagine a bank being more of a pain in my ass than Chase. If nothing else, the online account center is much better for BOA and the people that helped me on the phone were 10x's more helpful and knowledgeable.

I've only had one late payment in my life and that was 7 years ago when I was too dumb to know that if you're a day late it's just as well to wait 30 days until the next billing cycle to pay it lol. oops. I think that just barely dropped of my credit.

I'll tell you this though, I've never once had a problem with Discover Card. They've always been super helpful when I've called in with questions or issues. I'm a big fan of the ol "ya, so and so is offering me this rate on balance transfers (LIE!), can you match that". It's about a 2 minute phone call that will get you down in the 2-5% range usually.

Fleet Bank in the east is/was probably the worst bank to deal with, anywhere, ever.

Other than them, I think Chase is probably tops.

I've got you beat...although nothing to be proud of.

I have had a GE Mastercard since 1995 or something. Had a crappy rate to start with 15-16% never had a late payment the entire time I've had the card. A couple months ago I forgot about it and paid it one day late...yes one day. Because of that one day they raised the interest rate to 30%.

But it's okay. They said if I pay it ontime for a year, they will lower the rate back down. :ugh:

I have a chase card, crappy interest since it circuit city...

But I get free interest on qualified purchases, so it makes it worthwhile..but...

They didnt send a bill, so I got nailed with $125 in accrued interest, plus now i pay about 20% interest....Oh yeah payment was 1 day late when I caught...

They wont do anything to reverse charges or lower interest.

Hmmm....I've got 2 Chase cards (one personal, one business). One of them just had a fraud charge on it and I was on the phone for no more than 10 minutes to resolve the matter. They dropped the charge, which was an online money order (cash advance), and the finance charge which was a good amount since cash advances accrue interest daily. I had never been more pleased with a CC company.

Discover gave me a 1 day grace period when I missed a payment once. They said at the time it was policy.

I missed it because I was too busy recreating in Moab ;)
