But, and I'm not trying to be funny, the AI will design and build robots to eliminate the chicken soup machine repairman job too. Won't blink at completely rearchitecting the chicken soup machine to be robot serviceable.

My best friend lost his long time warehouse job a few years ago to a robot. Everyone in the facility lost their jobs to robots. And those are some clunky, not very sophisticated robots. Eventually there won't be a manual task you can think of that machines designed and built by other machines won't do faster and more consistently.

Excellent opportunity to consolidate power, wealth and privilege - if you already have all those things in abundance.

Someone's got to fix the robots. At least for awhile.

“AI is replacing the white-collar workers. I don’t think anyone can stop that,” said Pengcheng Shi, an associate dean in the department of computing and information sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology.

“This is not crying wolf,” Shi told The Post. “The wolf is at the door.”

Here's what I just asked, and got... in seconds.

"Write me a 10 paragraph paper on finance in the style of Stephen Covey."

"Introduction

Financial success is an important part of living a happy and fulfilled life. Stephen Covey, the author of the best-selling book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to achieving financial success. In this paper, we will discuss some of the key financial principles that Stephen Covey recommends in order to achieve financial success.

Habit 1: Be Proactive

The first habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to be proactive. This means that you should take responsibility for your own financial situation and take the necessary steps to ensure that you are in control of your financial future. This includes setting up a budget, tracking your expenses, and creating a plan to pay off any debts you may have.

Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind

The second habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to begin with the end in mind. This means that you should have a clear goal in mind when it comes to your finances. This could be something like saving up for a house, a car, or retirement. Having a clear goal will help you stay focused and motivated to achieve your financial goals.

Habit 3: Put First Things First

The third habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to put first things first. This means that you should prioritize your financial goals and focus on the most important ones first. This could mean focusing on paying off debt before saving for retirement or focusing on building an emergency fund before investing in the stock market.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

The fourth habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to think win-win. This means that you should always strive to find solutions that benefit both parties involved in a financial transaction. This could mean negotiating lower interest rates on a loan or finding a better deal on a product or service.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

The fifth habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to seek first to understand, then to be understood. This means that you should take the time to understand the financial products and services that you are considering before making a decision. This could mean doing research on different investments or reading up on the terms and conditions of a loan.

Habit 6: Synergize

The sixth habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to synergize. This means that you should look for ways to maximize the potential of your financial resources. This could mean looking for ways to save money on taxes or finding ways to invest in multiple assets at the same time.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

The seventh habit that Stephen Covey recommends is to sharpen the saw. This means that you should continually strive to improve your financial knowledge and skills. This could mean reading books on personal finance or attending seminars on investing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Stephen Covey has provided us with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to achieving financial success. By following his seven habits, we can take control of our financial future and ensure that we are on the path to financial freedom."

I've heard that educators are concerned about students using AI to write essays, wish I had that option when I was in school. 😁

This is a fact. My wife works at the U, and a senior member of her lab is also a professor there. He told my wife earlier this week that they (the educators) are being shown ways to (hopefully) spot papers written with AI.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
But what’s the point? If it’s ok to the world that businesses use ai to get ahead (robots and whatnot), why not allow a student to use ai to write a paper? I always thought the purpose of school was to teach us the tools to be successful. Looks like ai is now that tool.

Having said that, I’m 100% anti ai.

Been playing around with ChatGPT, decided to write a guide about winching... here's what I asked, super basic request. "write me a how to guide about vehicle recovery using a winch if stuck offroad"

You could take what it wrote and add more detail, making a more comprehensive write up. The response took about 10-15 seconds. Some of the details are funny, 'mount the winch'... lol

"Introduction:
Vehicle recovery is a critical skill for off-road enthusiasts, as it can mean the difference between getting back on the road safely or being stranded for hours or even days. A winch is a versatile and powerful tool that can be used to get your vehicle unstuck and back on the road. In this guide, we'll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to use a winch for vehicle recovery when you're stuck off-road.

Chapter 1: Preparation and Safety
Before you start using your winch, it's essential to prepare yourself and your vehicle. Here are the key steps you should follow to ensure a safe and successful recovery.
  1. Make sure you have all the necessary equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, and a winch control.
  2. Check the winch and its cable for any damage or wear, and replace or repair as necessary.
  3. Familiarize yourself with your vehicle's weight and winching capabilities, and make sure the winch is capable of handling the weight.
  4. Make sure you have a clear line of sight between your vehicle and the anchor point.
  5. Choose an anchor point that is secure, stable, and capable of supporting the weight of your vehicle.
Chapter 2: Setting up the Winch
Once you've prepared yourself and your vehicle, it's time to set up the winch. Here's how to do it:
  1. Mount the winch onto your vehicle, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Attach the winch control to your vehicle, making sure it's within reach.
  3. Attach the winch cable to the anchor point, making sure it's secure.
  4. Engage the winch and take up the slack in the cable, making sure it's tight.
Chapter 3: Vehicle Recovery
Now that the winch is set up and ready to go, it's time to recover your vehicle. Here's how to do it:
  1. Make sure everyone is clear of the winch cable and the vehicle.
  2. Start the engine and engage the winch, slowly and steadily pulling your vehicle towards the anchor point.
  3. Continue winching until your vehicle is clear of any obstacles and back on level ground.
  4. Disconnect the winch cable from the anchor point and wind it back onto the winch drum.
Chapter 4: Maintenance and Storage
After you've recovered your vehicle, it's important to take care of your winch and store it properly. Here's what to do:
  1. Clean the winch and cable, removing any dirt or debris.
  2. Inspect the winch and cable for any damage, and repair or replace as necessary.
  3. Store the winch and cable in a cool, dry place, making sure it's protected from the elements.
Conclusion:
By following these steps, you'll be able to use your winch for vehicle recovery when you're stuck off-road. Remember, vehicle recovery is a potentially dangerous activity, so it's essential to follow all safety precautions and to seek professional assistance if necessary. With the right equipment and a bit of know-how, you can be back on the road in no time!"

More playing... this is impressive.

"write me a technical guide on how to build a GM 5.3 LS engine for 500 horsepower and give me a list of the parts required to do so"

"Building a GM 5.3 LS engine to produce 500 horsepower requires a combination of performance parts and custom engine tuning. Here is a guide to help you build a high-performance 5.3 LS engine:
  1. Start with a Gen III or Gen IV LS engine block: The 5.3 LS engine is available in both Gen III and Gen IV versions. The Gen III engine is the LS1, LS6, and LS2, while the Gen IV engine is the LS3, LS7, LS9, and LSA. Choose the Gen IV engine if possible, as it is more advanced and provides better performance.
  2. Upgrade the rotating assembly: The rotating assembly of the 5.3 LS engine includes the crankshaft, rods, and pistons. Upgrading these parts will increase the engine's strength and durability. Consider using a forged crankshaft, 4340 steel rods, and forged pistons.
  3. Install cylinder heads: The cylinder heads play a crucial role in the engine's performance. Choose cylinder heads with high flow rates to increase air and fuel flow into the engine. Consider using heads with larger intake and exhaust valves, as well as larger ports.
  4. Upgrade the camshaft: The camshaft controls the engine's valve timing and lift, which directly affects the engine's power output. Choose a high-performance camshaft with aggressive valve timing and lift to increase power.
  5. Install an aftermarket intake manifold: The intake manifold helps control the air and fuel flow into the engine. Consider using a high-flow intake manifold with a large plenum and runners to increase the engine's breathing ability.
  6. Upgrade the fuel system: The fuel system must be able to provide sufficient fuel to the engine at high RPMs. Consider installing a high-flow fuel pump, larger fuel injectors, and a high-performance fuel pressure regulator.
  7. Install an aftermarket exhaust system: The exhaust system must be able to evacuate the exhaust gases quickly and efficiently. Consider installing headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a high-performance exhaust system.
  8. Tune the engine: The engine must be properly tuned to produce maximum power and performance. Consider using a custom engine tuning software, such as HP Tuners or EFI Live, to optimize the engine's performance.
Here is a list of the parts required to build a 500 horsepower 5.3 LS engine:
  1. Gen III or Gen IV LS engine block
  2. Forged crankshaft
  3. 4340 steel connecting rods
  4. Forged pistons
  5. High-performance cylinder heads
  6. High-performance camshaft
  7. High-flow intake manifold
  8. High-flow fuel pump
  9. Large fuel injectors
  10. High-performance fuel pressure regulator
  11. Headers
  12. High-flow catalytic converters
  13. High-performance exhaust system

So Jo, Ut
I’m buying more ammo.

How many rounds per robot do you think it will take??
I’ve currently only got about 10,000 rounds. That probably won’t even get me through a good weekend once the robots take over.

That night ended with us watching Terminator, and Terminator 2 😎
Hell yeah. T2 was my favorite movie growing up.

I tested Skynet for myself. My first question was wildly inappropriate and it said nahhhhh bro not gonna answer. My second one I figured would not work but it totally did. Wow!

I've used it to write a few scripts for short youtube videos. I really like how I can ask it to rewrite based on my input. That is the cool thing for me is that it saves hours of rewrite time and actually takes suggestion. I would love it if I could upload content and information to have it compile documents from just the sources I give it.

I'm seriously considering checking it out to help with software documentation for some of our vendors that have questionable documentation. I can just upload what they have and ChatGPT will make sense of that and spit it back to me?

No. There isn't a way to upload documents yet. I wish there was.

I'd still give it a try though, See if it can do it on it's own, just specify what software you would like it to do it for and then refine by asking specific questions after each revision.
