You going to drive 4 hrs to work on someone elses junk? I wouldn't! I don't think it will be that much work, drop the old trans & t-case, pull the holy 3.0, drop in the new-ish 3.4 and bolt up transmission & t-case. Some wiring, a bit of exhaust and Wala! I will need to install a clutch pedal, master & slave.

Who are you getting the 3.4l from? Justin?

Thanks! It's easy to dog on Toyotas, but the reliability is 2nd to none. Perhaps we can get another 200k out of this thing with the new motor!

Looks like I just scored a set of 33" BFG AT's with about half-tread for $100! Thanks to my BIL Mark. They'll eventually end up on the 4Runner, after the motor swap and lift.
