I just swapped high steer on my runner and need to align it, What is the cheapest place you have found to do a 4 wheel alignment, or front end only!

My toyota is a DD and after I did high steer I just set toe myself, I haven't had any abnormal tire wear or any issues at all. Come to think of it, I don't know anyone who has taken a solid axle Toy to have it aligned on a machine.

Try the good old les schwab in lindon or provo. 48.98 out the door. Or if you want to drive up to the holladay store I could do it for like 26.00

Yeah, I could see where taking 10 minutes and doing it yourself might be very costly. :mad2:

Probably the best shop I've found in Utah County is Sids Alignment Service in Springville. They know their stuff and will do it right - the first time. They usually charge around $40 bucks though. Or you could pay less and take it to some tire store where a minimum-wage tire buster can guess at how to do it. (Everytime I've done that I've had to go back at least once until they got it right).

But like others have said, I set the toe at 1/8" on my 'runner myself after I did my SAS and it has worked great. Two years later and my tires are wearing great. I'd at least try it yourself and keep an eye on the tires for a few weeks. If they start showing abnormal wear then take it somewhere.

An easy way to do it yourself - stick a thumbtack in a treadblock on each front tire mid-way up on the front of the tire. Measure between the thumbtacks. Now back up until the tacks are in the middle of the back of the tires. Measure there and find the difference. Set the front of the tires 1/8" less than the back and you're good.

I don't know anything about Toy front ends but what will an alignment shop set for 40-50 bucks? My guess is tow in and that is all that is really adjustable without getting into things that are going to cost a lot more like rewelding perches and installing shims or offset kingpins(or whatever toys use). Get out a tape and check it yourself.
