Back to the OP, what are your long term plans with the jeep? All around use I.e. hard wheeling, daily driving, exploring?

Well the idea is get it tail worthy (not crazy) nice 33s, lockers front and rear (selectable front for sure) armor stiffen suspention, ect... wheeling like 5 mile type wheeling, camping, a little road driving. Just build it till i can get my buggy done.

Your basically looking for something like what I'm running right now which is a 8.25 and a hp30. When I got my cherokee it was open open on 31s and I made it almost all the way to eagles nest at 5 mile. Now I'm locked up front with a Detroit e-z locker (basically a lock rite) on 33's and it goes everywhere I want mine to go. Only problem I have with mine is it's the 27 spline 8.25 which can be changed to 29 spline pretty easy. I wish you were looking for a set later in the year cause I'm swapping axles to a 44 and 60 in the winter and I'd sell mine pretty cheap

Me too but i want to have my toyota for WOTR next year. So hopefully my jeep well be done by ejs
I sold my stock xj axles (99 hp 30 and the higher spline 8.25 3.55 ratio) for $350, which was more than I expected to get.

btw I have narrowed d60/gm 14bolt but with not much backspacing and my tread sticks out about 6 inches in the front
