B B2-Bomber Guest Location SL, UT Apr 3, 2013 #7 a fair number of 4.3s have different tooth count than the small blocks. the 4.3 is neutral balanced just like the genI and gen II 305/327/350, but flex-plates/flywheels in 400/383 use an externally balanced flex plate/flywheel and gen III (LS-based) is different too here, if you can't find one private-party, you can get a new one for $29.00 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...t+flexplate_1061075_3961&keyword=at+flexplate Last edited: Apr 3, 2013
