chevy springs

I have a set of chevy spring that like all older springs have negative arch. I could get an add a leaf but I dont want any lift. I also cant find stock height springs so I an now looking at making a hybrid pack.

Has anybody made a new set of leafs for the front of their chevy using the stock spring and leafs from something else? I have a extra set of leafs front and rear but the fronts are also worn out.

Wondering if it would work to put the 2 front leafs together with a main leaf from the rear spring pack. I think the front has 2 leafs and the rear has 7 so a single leaf from the rear wouldnt bee too stiff but dont know if it would be enought.

Am I shooting in the dark or does any of this make sense?

It's not that they're old, the older Chebby's were negative arch right from the factory. If you look at an unmounted set, you'll see they actually have a positive arch without load.

One thing I've always done when swapping a small block to a big block, is to add one extra stock leaf to make up for the extra weight and level the truck back out. If you have a spare stock set, toss an extra leaf in. If you don't, I could probably help you out.

How many leaves do your packs have. There are both the 2 leave packs and 3 leave packs out there. Most SB's had the 2 leave and the BB's had the 3 leave.

I have the 2 pack and they are awesome (sarcasm) the springs are barely away from the bump stops so and driving down the road I sometimes feel the spring hitting the stop.

I know the feeling.I have a 87 3/4ton Sub. It is the same way.I am planning on putting a shot lift on it.They ride alot better with a lift and no swaybar or atleast with the Offroad Design swaybar disconnects.

Mine fits in the garage with 1-2 inches of clearance and when I get the springs fixed it will be CLOSE. I cant lift it or it will never fit in the garage. If this wasnt the case it would have a 4" already.

On my rig, I've got bastard leaf packs at all four corners. Once you get 'em dialed in, nothing is better. I have zero axle wrap, they super flexy and their set to the perfect amount of lift.

By the way I have a mixture of Chevy, MJ, XJ, YJ springs to create my leaves.
