GMC / Chevy Chevy truck questions

I'm looking at a '98 4x4 Chevy 3/4 ton with a Vortec 5.7... my questions are concerning the rear axle and the transmission. I realize that the best way to verify what it has is to actually check it out in person, but it's not too close to me and I'm not ready to take the trip to see it. I haven't contacted the owner and I'm not even sure they could answer my questions, figured I'd ask here.

Would this truck have a full float 14 Bolt, or a crappy semi-float? And the transmission... I'm guessing it would be a 4L60e, not a 4L80E?

I'm pretty sure it would have a NP241 t-case, which is good.

Anyone have helpful input?

Could be either on both. I have a 96 2wd with a semi 14 and a 4l80e behind a 5.7L

You could get the vin and run it through a dealer as well.
