I have been talking to ALCAN about building me some custom springs and have just about went with them when someone mentioned Best deal springs down in Payson.has anyone used them and are they good?I have used these guys on our work trucks and they do a great job, but Im not sure for off road applications.(going on a cj5 and want 2.5-3.5 of lift)

The guys at best deal are cool, great to deal with. I have had then do some re-arching and repair stuff. Never full leafs. I am not sure how educated they are on the finer details of making flexy springs though. Talk to them, see if you can talk to some other customers. Springs are not rocket sience, but it is a lot different to build a flexy spring then a "truck" spring. Ask about the # of leaves and thickness. Not always, but generally more thin leaves flex better than a few thick ones. Also look for diamond cuts, tapers, shoot peening/stress relief, squeek pads, etc....

Betts and Deaver out of S. Cali do great work. I have also used Nationals, great flex, but seem to sag.

I did like the ALCAN's I tried in the Bronco

To really make the leaves you would be best off converting to a yj springs. The CJ's are thin/really thin depending on year. Told hold the vehilcle wieghts, they have to be stiffer than their wider counterparts.

Also, look at RE and Currie for springs, might have to call Currie, don't think they are still in the catalog. (only if you go to YJ leaves)

I have heard nothing but good about alcan and probaby go with them. but now you say to convert the to yj may be a good idea,I looked at old man emus conversion but I want a little more lift, they say you can only run 31s.I am only going to run 32/11.5s but I dont wont to be rubbing all the time.does anyone make a conversion or would you have to custom make one?

Yep, there are a lot of kits for yj springs out there.
The OME kit is a good one, and you should not have any problem with 32's on it. Could always add a 1" bodylift.

BTW Cuiseroutfit on her is the OME dealer.

I've got Nationals on mine, the rears sag, but I couldn't reach National????
I got Alcan to re-do them, but they're sagging again. Living in Texas ain't real handy to get stuff to Alcan, shipping makes those springs real expensive.
My Fronts have never given me any problems.
