CJ7 pitman arm

This next weekend I am going to do a shackle reverse on my cj using a kit from MORE. While I was at it I planned on flipping the tierods to the top of the knuckle. I will no longer need a dropped pitman. I have heard that the stock pitman arms are very weak and bend. What other options do I have?

I used a wagoneer pitman on my cj, it does use larger tie rod ends.

...and it does drop a little bit compared to the dead-flat CJ arm. (about an inch or so is all)

If you are going to use the stock-size tie rod ends, and a flat arm is what you need, then a stock CJ arm is probably your one option. I have seen several reinforced by welding a piece of plate around them, essentially putting a "U" shape around the perimeter of the arm.

Check with Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters, I think he uses them for power steering conversions sometimes. If not, Teraflex Plus used to stock them too.

Yup, I've got several different arms in stock, flat is going to be the CJ only, some of the drop ones are substantially beefier.

Bet Carl could build a reinforcement surround for it
