How do I know/tell this is going bad?

Here is the issue:

When shifting from 1st to 2nd, every now and then, I "catch" gears it feels like.....

I tried adjusting that push rod under the dash.....

to see if that might have helped... it did not.....

So, just seeing how I may know the MC is bad....

Thanks

Could be master cylinder, slave cylinder, or 1 to 2 synchro failing. If you're only seeing it when you shift from first to second, I'd wager it's a synchro wearing out.

probably something more pricey but check this first

Check the fluid in your transmission sometimes if thats low it will grind between gears.

Sorry, I have a 2000 Toyota tacoma 4x4 v6.... 5 speed.....

Others have suggested to bleed the clutch....or replacing the master cylinder....

Im going to try flushing the fluid and bleeding it and see what happens...

Mine as well start small and then go form there.....

Hoping it is not a synchro.... That cant be cheap to have fixed...
