Coilover front shocks for 2003 Ford Ranger

Hey everyone, been trying to figure out what coilovers would work on my 2003 Ford Ranger... so far no luck on finding something specifically designed for that. If any of you have any coilovers that would fit the front of my truck that would be awesome. Or if you know where I can get them that would be great too!

Is it a stock suspension? Chad ( SLCpunk74 ) has done a few ranger front ends with coil overs. Far from a bolt on and not cheap to do as its labor intensive but if your interested PM me I will get you his number and you can talk price for building a engine cage/ shock tower to run a coil over on your truck. Im guessing you would also need at minimum a new upper A-arm for shock clearance but I would not be surprised if you needed both upper and lower arms to fit it.At this point cost wise you will be so close to a long travel front end I would just go that way.
Here are a few pictures of the shock tower he currently runs on his Daily Driver ranger.

Yeah its a 4x4. A long travel kit huh, that some serious money. I will have to save up for that in that case. Hmmm lots of choices.

Pretty sure the '03 4x4 is still torsion beam, isn't it? If so, anything on the market to convert to coilovers will be serious money. I don't know why you'd want to go to the effort of converting from the torsion beam suspension and NOT go long travel at the same time.

There was a company making a set of tabs to run a 6.5" coilover on the 4x4 front end. Not sire what happened to that but they didn't seam to sell awesomely. With the factory upper shock mount there you are really limited on what you can do.
Can I ask why you want a coilover? Besides lift which would be minimal anyway I can't see too much benefit over a nice shock and maybe an upgraded torsion bar.

Lol actually very few choices and that's kind of the problem. Like said below a high quality smooth body shock valved to your needs will likely perform as well as a coil over in your application unless you decided you want long travel.

I just wanted a little better quality of ride, I like off roading but probably not enough to get a long travel kit.

Bilsteins might fit the bill. Threw those on the front of my dad's f250 ride from hell and they are pretty nice. Good for dirt roads and the like. My truck sucks on small street sized bumps so it's kind of a commitment. Sucks is harsh I guess it just rides less like a ranger and more like a truck on the small bumps.

True, I might have to sell my truck getting married here at the beginning of the year. it is a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 with 65,000 miles on it. It is caged with a long travel kit in the rear. Fiberglass body panels front and rear all around. Upgraded heavy duty bumper. It was converted to a manual at 55,000 miles and has a B&M shift kit on it. Its the 4.0L engine. Has a KN cold air intake. Brand new corbeu racing "leather" seats. It has 33s on it with 75% of the tread left on them with a full size spare.
Its been prerunnered out. How much do you think I could probably get for it? Its a beautiful vehicle and well taken care of. The interior is great as well with no imperfections.
