I have some 16" dual rate sway aways for the front of my LJ with the winch and Hemi I need a ride height of 32" eye to eye allowing 7" of up travel, how would I figure this out? Any one running something like this with input on your rates and ride height?

Basically you need to know exact numbers for your sprung weight per side. You can get this by measuring your current (if you have any) spring values. For example a 100lb spring that has 500lbs sprung weight will collapse 5". Once you have that you can then get the correct springs.

If you have 30" of room on your shock at full extension you will want to run a 16" lower (because you have a 16" shock, if not you risk catching the spring on the body and breaking stuff) and a 14" upper. If you have 32" you could run a 16" lower and 14" upper with a tender, or just roll the preload down till you only have 30"

After that figure out what size spring will fit on the shock with desired amount of up travel. If you want 5" of up travel that means you need 30" of springs to settle 11" total. I like the heaviest bottom I can fit and then something in the 120lb range for an upper.

Here is my lazy version: You can fill this out and I will help you if you like.

For each corner give me:

1. At full extension (no limit straps or other) the distance from lower spring retainer to upper spring retainer

2. At full extension (no limit straps or other) the length of the shock rod showing. Just the shock rod itself, no bushings or lower spring retainer.

3. How much up travel do you want to run?

4. With zero weight on the springs how tall are they?

5. What is the advertised weight of each spring?

6. Put both axles on jack stands. Make sure they are close to level and give your suspension a good shake by grabbing the roll bar or something. Now measure how tall the upper and lower spring are.

7. Height of all spacers

8. Height of tender (if applicable) at both full extension and fully compressed.

They aren't installed yet I need to buy the springs for them, seems like going off that would put me in the 16" 300# and 14" 250# ball park maybe, should I run tender coils?

Yeah, tenders on a 16" is a must.

You can ballpark but then you will have a ballpark type suspension.

I have some coils you could borrow just to get your weights if you want.... otherwise... sure 250/300 will work.
