Where is there coverage, video coverage. Or is it a matter of getting it together then we will see it? Pirate has some stuff I just don't know if I am looking in the right place.

Pirate is the only place with coverage so far. Even the official KOH site didn't have anything useful yet.

I can't wait to see how Carl and all the other locals do in BOR this year!

We went and it was a very cool race! But the pits were crappy as always. I don't under stand why they don't do then like desert races (just a mess) and the course was hard! If it was easy everyone would do it, Thats what makes it fun!! Oh and carl I think that the only thing on that rig that you did is 2 feet of frame its alot different good or bad. As for HOT CARL good work better luck next year!

Pirate has the official finishing order up today and there were only 43 rigs that finished!!!!

Amazing!
So 43 finished....not 5...that's a lot better. I'm not saying make the course easy. No kidding if it were easy everyone would do it. But if the attrition rate was really 95% or higher, then it starts to become ridiculous. Yeah, it's fun because of the challenge, but how much fun is it if you're almost guaranteed to fail...and not because you weren't prepared. If it was really 95% or higher, then all you'd have to do to have a podium finish is drive as slow as you could. Everyone else is going to break because this course is so awesome it breaks everyone, while you coming poking along and finish....talk about a boring race. Not to mention, if you make the course impossible (or near) then you will loose competitors. Think about UROC. When did it start to become a waste of time...when they started making ridiculous obstacles and making it so nearly everyone is going to roll or break. They turned it into a Monster Truck/WWF show rather than a technical rockcrawling competition like it was meant to be. The attrition rate of the Dakar (often said to be the toughest race in the world) isn't even that high. The numbers I could find put it right around mid 80%. Like I said in my first post, anyone can design a course that is going to break every vehicle. A race where you have 95% of the teams failing becomes a race of who can spend the most money and build the strongest car rather than a race about the skill of the drivers.

Where did you find that? The leader board they have up still only shows that the first 5 people hit all 20 checkpoints. Was checkpoint 15 the finish and the rest were bonus or what?

You do know that a very average Joe won it don't you? And none of the high end rig finished so what are you getting at? It was about skill, are you mad? I think that it should be open to everyone but they need to qualify the week befor and that way it will weed out the POS rigs.

Yeah i have to agree that if only 5 out of 102, professional racers, with top of the line built buggies, are finishing i think it has gone to a little to extreme, at least 25 to 30 should finish, that way it's more race than a survival camp, just saying......didn't read the second page, iguess 43 is defientaly more like it, i retract my first comment, congrats Carl who ever you are

Whatever the numbers are, I am sure they would have been higher if it was not a race. Trying to beat the other guys will make the drivers do some stupid things and break their rigs. In hill-climbing (snowmobile and motorcycle) it used to be that no one made it over the top, the winner was whoever made it the farthest. Now people go over all the time and the winner is whoever is fastest. Same hill as before. The vehicles evolved and the riders improved. It's not that the course is too hard-people are simply pushing the margins. Either the drivers will slow down or the rigs will improve or both. No need to make the course easier.

Not sure if you're speaking to me or someone else, but of course I'm not mad. I'm just curious where to find the updated info because the list posted on pirate doesn't make a lot of sense.

Anyone know where to find the ammended list?

No Redd not you, you know that this is a dam hard race! but this reminds me of a UROC event in 04/05 in St Go. that Mike Bear did and everyone bitched that it was to hard but not the teams that placed well. I watched it and it was no harder them last year I think more people just drove past there vehicles abilities thats all.
