Im looking to buy a newer salvage vehicle for parts, but you have to have a broker license to buy from copart. A private individual is only allows to buy complete titled vehicles.

Does anyone know someone that has the proper licenses to buy salvage vehicles from Copart? I dont mind paying a fee. The common fee on Copart for a broker seems to be 200-250 (a little high IMO), but there arent any in Utah, and Im just not that trusting.

Thanks!

I have done it, I bought my van that way. I still have my license through February, I used a broker from Florida. I was told AT CoPart that all you really need in Utah is a tax ID number, and a business license. The broker fees can be high, it's true, but it was worth it for me. I bought an E350 for $925. Less than a grand and it was back on the road legally, and working great. Pm me if you want more information, I will give you my phone number, maybe we can work something out.

The auctions can get pretty crazy, with people bidding rom all over the world. It's hard to believe, but a lot of the cars seem to go to the Middle East and Mexico. At least, that's been my experience watching them live online. I have been trying to pick up a used Kawasaki dual sport sport through them for months, but always get outbid. Some stuff goes for pretty close to normal value, it's bizarre. I think people get caught up in the bidding, and bid too much sometimes.
