I'm failing to envision what you're asking about. Are you wanting something like a campfire ring, but large enough for a tramp?

Yes.

You dig a hole, place a steel ring in the hole to prevent it from collapsing, and place a trampoline in the hole to kill fewer kids.

Basically, I need a 16 foot diameter, 3 foot long corrugated steel tube.

My brother works for RedWolf Developmental Rock Walls and has done a lot of trampoline holes with rock retaining walls. Its a little better looking IMO than corrugated steel..

On a related note, I like the tramphole for the aesthetics of it, but were kids like, dying in droves before this amazing innovation in trampoline safety?? hehe

you have to realize that for a round tramp it doesn't need to be perfectly round underneath. You can square it off with the feet of the tramp. Your stretch happens at or close to the center so having it round ins't necessary.

When we did ours we used 2x4's and chicken wire. Sounds white trash but you cant see the chicken wire and 8 years later it is still holding up perfect

We will have stone walls other places in the yard, but we pretty much want the grass to come right up to the trampoline. You won't really be able to see the steel at all.

BTW, we did find a 14 foot steel ring for about $1000.

That's about a $500 savings over the quote we were given.

My sister had a tramp this way, but whoever built it used rail road size ties to form the hole. Like you said it doesn't have to be a round hole. I think the wood looked really nice too.
However, I dont know how you could have the grass come right to the edge of the tramp with wood
