I have a 454 externaly ballanced, to a New Process 4590 series 5 speed, with 14 inch clutch. What counter ballance adapter plate do I need behind the crank?
Wouldn't the flywheel be your externally balanced piece? My memory is pretty fuzzy on that question for big blocks. (also not familiar at all with a NP 4590 either but that shouldn't really be part of the equation)
The counterbalance is in the flywheel and balancer on big blocks... so if you're using the appropriate pieces for your engine, you're golden. Whatever you bolt to the back of it is irrelevant.
