Another $45 and 3 hours later, my sons ECX has 3 new axle shafts and is going again.
I think I am into this one at least the purchase price again in parts. Some his fault, some not. So far we are 3 axle shafts, 2 drivelines, rear axle housing, miscellaneous bolts and nuts, multiple ball mounts, battery, etc.
it’s no different than a real crawler. Except I can’t actually sit in it.

The difference is, if it were a real crawler instead of $45 and 3 hours, it would be $2500 and 3 days. And you'd be laying in the cold snow on the driveway instead of sitting at the nice warm well lit kitchen table! :D

Here's my SCX24 JLU. Myself, my 2 boys, and a bunch of wheeling buddies have variants of these 1:24 scale rigs and we meet up on the monthly to compete against each other.

I welded up a trophy that gets passed around to the winner of each monthly event. The center post is an old Atlas II input shaft that I couldn't find a use for or even give away.

Having too much fun forgot to take a pic when all 6 rigs were out. But here is our little course. Pretty good challenge for the 1/24. Even the stuff that looks pretty tame is so off camber you pretty make one wrong move and you’re going for a tumble.
