Custom Soft Top

I have a bobbed CJ8 (cut 12") That I have been restoring for many months. I am ready to put a top of some sort on it. Does anyone have any experience with any local fabric shops or custom top work?

I think can get a CJ7 top and have it extended, but I wanted to see if anyone with an extended tub went the full custom route.

I had Dutchman Canvas make me a top. Not sure if they are still around, but they did a good job.

i think there's some place called Sugarhouse Awning? not sure if that's even spelled right... a buddy of Kurt's(cruiseroutfit's) just had one made for his toyota truck, and it turned out real sweet.

we had custom tops made for all our boats at Sugarhouse Awning and they do an excellent job. I'd use them in a second. They are located on State and approx. 7400 S. in Midvale.

Nope, sorry.

I have also had Sugerhouse do repair work on tops, they did a good job too.

But they are not in Suger house any more....they are just west of State street and about 7500 South.

Let me know which one you go with. I have a YJ that I streched going to be needing a top very soon. I was thinking of buying and having it modified. But I need the hardware as well.

sugarhouse awning can do hardware for you as well. they did on our boats, all stainless and held up great to our abuse

I'm the same boat with my stretched CJ. My plan was to get a bestop and have sugarhouse awning do the cut and stretch. I was quoted in the ball park of a $100. At the off road expo I saw a bobbed Scrambler with the same type of modified top and it looked good.
