As long as they are both either high or low pinion axles and then the only difference is the ring and pinion the locker will work in both axles
 
Passenger side shaft on Wrangler is a 2 piece CAD, so only the outer stub would work. Other than that everything should as long as they are both high pinion or low pinion as stated before (although I don't know of any Wranglers being low pinion).

Tj wranglers were low pinion and one piece axle shafts. Yjs had a hp with the cad.
 
Actually TJ d30's are short pinion D30's so no they are not the same but besides the pinion gear the rest is the same or will work
