I'm getting ready to install one and had a couple questions. THIS is basically what I have.

First it seems pretty straight forward, but is it? I've done some reading and one site said I might need a, "Speedi Sleeve to extend the input shaft on the transfer case so it can engage the output seal on the transmission." Do I? I also heard you need to replace the rear transmission seal and I'd be fine.

How much problems will I run into with my twin stick shifters being at the wrong angle now? Should I anticipate front driveshaft clearance problems? Do I still fill it up all the way to the fill hole since it will hold more oil now?

Any other suggestions or anticipated problems?

Do you have it in your Email, as a topic reply notification? I'd rather not re-type it if I can help it. :)

Let's see how close I can come to my original post:

If you look at your D300 input shaft, you should be able to see where the seal has been riding on it. If you have more than 3/8" from that mark to the end of the shaft, that means you have enough seal engagement without moving the seal once you put the clocking ring in the mix.

The shifters will move back 3/8" also, which probably isn't a problem. The bigger concern is moving the shift knobs toward the driver when you clock the 'case. Some twinstick setups can rotate at their mount, some can't. If you can move them over that's great, otherwise heating/bending the sticks will solve the issues.

You can overfill the 'case once it's flat, which by itself isn't bad--but it might puke oil out of the breather if it's too full. Solve that by measuring how much oil you put in, or put in a sight tube like an Atlas has, as pictured on kowe69's 300 below:

That's too cool! Anybody who is more handy than me want to make me one?

Thanks for reposting Carl! After a $50( :mad2: ) speedy sleeve, It's in and I'm good to go, as soon as I figure out a new transmission mount. :-\
