greenjeep
Cause it's green, duh!
- Location
- Moab Local!
*DISCLAIMER* Ok, these may be stupid questions, but my transfercase is about the only thing on my Jeep I haven't had to mess with, until now.
So I ran The Spike yesterday, and after a fluke roll, which put me back on my tires, my Dana 300 started leaking. It's a pretty stead drip. With the skid plate in the way it is pretty hard to tell where it's coming from, put it seems pretty clean riight below the front output, everything else is pretty dirty/grimy. Does this make sense as the most likely culprit for a leak?
So my main questions are:
- How would I check to be sure of the leaks location?
- If it is the front seal, how difficult is it to replace?
- What would this leak have to do with my roll, or is it just a coincidence?
- Since I've never had prolems with my T-case, I've never filled it; how full do I fill it? Also I'm assuming the fill hole is the square bolt on the top right on the back of the case, right?
- Is there any kind of stop leak I could use as a quick fix?
- Anything else I sould know or need to look for?
Thanks.
