I broke a D35 shaft, running a Detroit, by turning out of a gravel driveway. Think on that.

Man, that sucks. I would rather spend my energy doing something to earn money for a bigger axle than spend another minute working on a D35. Just my $.02

don't bother with D44 either. If you're going to go to all the trouble of the swap and the associated work and costs, do it once and do it right with a big ol' axle. =D

FYI my wife (or me) killed a carrier bearing in a d35, in a yj, on the street with 31's, probably the V8 and the burnouts had something to do with it.

The best thing to do with a D35 is tie a rope to it and sell it as a boat anchor.
