I see everybody using chevy knuckles for high steer applications. I plan on doing the double end steer arms that put the tie rod behind the axle. Will ford knuckles work? Well, I have seen them work, so what I mean is why chevy? Are they stronger? I have a set of fords that are free so I would like to use them if I can.
thanks

I am not 100% but I think the fords only have the bolted on arms on the one side where the chevys are on both
But I am not sure on that

I think the Ford brakes may be in the way. Call the maker of the arms and ask.

Chevy only has bolted arm on one side. You have to drill and tap the other. I would have to drill and tap the ford, but that's okay with me. Somebody has to know.

As long as the top of the knuckles are fairly flat you can t/d either one. Some knuckles require an extra milling step. Post up pics of your knuckles

I often reference this article for such info.

I don't recall seeing any full size chevys that have flat top knuckles on both sides. Some jeep waggys have them though. try to find a matching set. be very careful and do not use flat top knuckles that have drum brakes unless you think to retain the front drums. the knuckles are different.

also never mill a knuckle flat that isn't a flat top knuckle. it makes it too weak.

Contacted the manufacturer of the arms he said ford will work fine. Sweet!! Just have to drill and tap the arm(and flatten out the small ridge on the top of the knuckle).
