what do I need to convert this to a SRW? It looks like I just unbolt the spacer and bolt up the wheel where the spacer is bolted.

This is a 99 Ford DRW Dana 60

Here is a pic of the hub and to me it looks totally different then the older style where the hub was part of the spacer

What are you going to build now?

I am not sure yet I picked up this truck to put the axle under my crawler hauler and make it 4wd but I am looking at the axles and thinking about selling them as they have 488 gears and front and rear disks but they have the 8 on 225mm lug pattern so that kinda sucks.

I have a few ideas for my own future projects but I just don't see anything happening for the next few years.

I dont know about the newer style D60's but on the older ones you have to get a new hub body and everything for single wheel. The hub body on that one is alot shorter than the older ones. Ill see what i can come up with.

from what I can find on the newer ones it just unbolts and the spacer is not part of the hub like the old ones.

Guess I just need to grab a wrench and go find out

I'm reasonably certain you can just unbolt the spacer and suddenly it's a SRW axle. At the dealer, we had to remove them all the time to get the on-car brake lathe to work on the duallies. After you get the spacer off, it looks just like any other superduty axle.

The metric bolt pattern isn't a big deal. Superduty take-offs are a dime a dozen. We had over a dozen sets (4) stashed in the back room.
