An anti-aircraft gun that came off the sunken USS Utah, a 5-foot-by-9-foot riveted slab of the USS Arizona's superstructure, and an oscilloscope showing the radar picture before the attack, also are included in the exhibit plan, he said.

Today's events for the expected 2,000 people in attendance, will include a moment of silence, a "missing man" flyover, wreath presentations, featured speakers, a rifle salute and taps. The 7:55 a.m. attack killed 2,390 people.

My mother and her parents lived a few hundred yards from Hickam Field, and watched the whole thing take place. The stories I've heard over the years from them have been great, and not the watered down version you'll get on the History channel. The sories of the couple years following the attack were just as interesting to me. Till the day my grandmother died, here in Utah 5 years ago, she carried the U.S. Government ID card that indicated she was NOT Japanese.

If you ever get the chance go there, it's well worth the trip. Don't just see the Arizona monument, go to the cemetary as well. But plan on spending the entire day there.
