Just wanted to let you guys know I'm deployed now. Not a bad deployment since I'm in Korea, I won't make very much money but being able to have a beer and wear my civillian clothes makes up for that.

The Korean War ended with an armistice that called for a DMZ to be closely monitored. It's still very much a military mission and the most potentially dangerous border in the world.

Seoul is within artillery range from the DMZ, if it ever goes sideways it's really going to be a mess.

Thanks guys. yeah Korea typically isn't an actual deployment but things are changing. Most people get assigned here for at least a year and get a short tour out of it but we "Deployed" here and get no real credit for it.

Good news is I do get to eat some awesome food and trips like charted fishing trips on the Yellow Sea are only $100 a trip. So while it will suck being gone at least I'll be able to have some fun with plenty of trips to go on.
