Dex's '64 CJ5

Owners Name & City- Dex, Cache Valley

Make, Model & Year of Vehicle-1964 Jeep CJ5

Engine-rebuilt original 150ci F-Head 4-cylinder

Transmission- original T-90

T-Case-dana 20 or 28 (not sure exactly. I know it's the original)

Axles- originals (anybody know what they are?) with the original 5.38 gear ratios

Suspension-original-hopefully it will get a 2 or 3 inch lift soon

Wheels and Tires-original wheels wrapped in 235/75R15 rubber that's at least 20 years old but hardly used

Winch-none yet-hope to add a Warn PowerPlant one day

Favorite Trails-this will be my first true rig. only places i've really been are the canyons of Cache Valley and a sissy trail in Moab (can't even remember what it was).

Other-this is a resto project that i started just over a year ago. it has been in the family since the 1970's or '80's and has sat in our yard for 17 years. I hope to make it a capable Rig that will take me to the canyons near my house in Cache Valley.

more current pics coming soon. these are from last summer. since then I have painted the engine compartment and some of the frame and the brush guard, made some new floorboards, put in the engine trans and t-case, put on a roll bar and new brakes.

Engine should be a 134 F originally, trans should be a T-90, T-case should be a Spicer/Dana 18, axles should be Dana 25 front and course spline 2 piece Dana 44 rear. All in all, very good drive train for what it was intended to do, lousy if you plan to "build" it, but not impossible. Should be a nice Jeep though, good work!

cool thnx for the info. one day it will probly get new axles or at least new gear sets. and a bigger engine and trans and what not. for now im just makin it run so i can take it up the canyons around here
