Do you know what the regulations are for emissions fort a half ton truck that had a gas motor in it but the motor has been changed to diesel in utah county thanks force your help

You have to take it to the county emissions office in Spanish fork where they will look it over and make sure it has everything on it that it should for the year, they will give you a waiver and you shouldn't have to have an emissions done ever again.

How sure are you of this? I have been able to obtain a waiver for a vehicle that I replaced a carbed motor with a EFI motor, but it still needed to pass an emissions test for the model year of the car. It was a gas to gas swap though.
I have wondered about how a diesel conversion might work. If what you say is true I should be able to pull the gas motor from my trooper and install a nice isuzu turbo diesel in its place, and then never need another emissions test?
That just seems to fly in the face of modern bureaucracy.

starting january 1st of this next year utah county will require a diesel emissions test. as far as i know you will have to have the stock exhaust system. that means no staks for those who have them. ive also heard any performance chips will cause it to automatically fail. unless installed by the dealer cause they will know which chips are leagel and which are not. i know it sucks to be hearing this but its true. i test emissions and have been told its mainly due to the fact for those who have replaced the exhaust systems for something less efficent and have chiped them.
