Dispersed camping around electric lake? Currant creek?

I know the ice is off at electric lake but was wondering how the snow conditions are. Looking to take the girlfriend and a couple of her friends out camping this weekend but dont want to freeze there tails off. My second choice would be the strawberry/currant creek area. Any guidance for a Utah newbie? I love fishing, so that is always a consideration.

I was up at currant Creek a couple of weeks ago, fishing was good and there are some dispersed camping spots, just not next to the lake.

There are still a lot of remaining snowdrifts and they did receive some fresh snow up around Electric lake yesterday, so expect close to freezing nighttime temps until it starts to warm up next week. Please keep in mind that ALL of the tributaries around Electric, Gooseberry, and the surrounding area are CLOSED to fishing until July, this means you can only fish the lakes and not the streams.

Oh, and there is plenty of dispersed camping in that area.

Thanks, very good information. I am expecting the freezing temps but am more concerned with snow on the ground still. I its still under 4 feet of snow like a couple of weeks ago, I will have to alter my plans, or the females will do so when we arrive this weekend

Open flat ground is free of snow, it's the shaded hillsides that have some left. I check the web cams up there every few days and am itching to take the boat out on Huntington reservoir, but it's still mostly frozen over. Even in the middle of summer the nights stay in the 40-50 temp range at night, last Labor Day I even had hail and wet snow coming down on me one afternoon and had to huddle in a ditch while the lightning storm passed over, headed back to camp to change and went back out fishing. I love that area up there, next week we are going to head to Scofield for some bigger Tiger trout.

HHMM sounds like im talking to an insider. I ice fished( First time ever, i'm from Phoenix) Scofield a couple of times this past winter and was never lucky enough to catch a tiger. Definitely going to try this summer. Are there any pretty camping spots around Scofield? I wouldn't be apposed to finding somewhere around there to spend the weekend. The girls are demanding pines and aspen.

BTW, where do i find these webcams?

I actually haven't fished or camped at Scofield yet, but hope to before the water warms up. The webcams are on the UDOT website http://commuterlink.utah.gov/
