1. Has it ever been proven the cops are on the back of beadlock'd rigs. At one time I offered money for someone to produce a ticket from beadlocks. I beleive it was Scott @ Rockstomper that did it on a national level. To my knowledge nobody could ever cough one up. I'v driven my Cruiser all over the state in the last couple years, knock on wood I have never had a problem. With all the fake beadlock wheels out there I don't ever anticipate it being a problem. Not to mention the fact I don't think they are illegal in the first place (search for that thread ;))

2. If you think the HP would pull you over and cite you for beadlocks, what do you think they are going to do when they see you have plugged a bunch of screws in your wheel. IMHO a properly welded on beadlock ring adds strength to a rim, I can't say the same thing for adding a bunch of holes in your rim.

3. I'm sure it works OK, judging on the experiences on PBB IT doesn't look like a bad option for a trail rig...

X2 what Kurt said

And rim screws have been used for YEARS by low buck drag racers....

If you need beadlocks that bad and are that worried about a ticket, save up and get the Stauns....

I would agree with everything that has been said. I know a few people with beadlocks and they haven't had a problem yet. However everyone is always telling them their illegal so I thought I would throw it out there. I am not in the market currently for beadlocks, I have a long list of things to do before them but after seeing this option for under $100 I thought it could be a fun addition and help with snow wheeling this winter.

If you have a spare set of rims, give it a try... its cheap enough that your not out too much if it doesn't work.

The sum of it is that there is no law on the books regarding beadlocks... There is however a note in the UHP inspection manual (not the law) that rejects them. To date I am yet to see a ticket for a beadlock, and even if a ticket was written, it would be easy to fight... BUT, they can waste your time and money.

So, swap your tires for inspection (if they even require it), and run them the rest of the time IMHO.
